Best Artificial Grass Installs in Schools no.5Posted on: 18th January, 2013
One of the biggest strengths of artificial grass in schools is the way in which is totally transforms previously unused space into a place that students can utilise. Crossfields is a great example of this. Albeit only a relatively small area at around 158 square metres, the installation of artificial grass enabled the management of Crossfields to really begin using the overgrown area as an outdoor play space for children attending its on-site nursery. The softness of our Cambridgeshire turf provides the perfect space for all those tumbling toddlers.
The other thing we enjoyed about this job was the natural look that the artificial grass accommodated. You can see from the pictures below that the centre point of the area is of course the well established tree. For obvious reasons this couldn’t be moved so our guys had to work around it. Rather than creating an edging around the roots that would have spoiled the look of the area, they were able to neatly lay the grass around this complex shaped which you can see worked brilliantly from the close-up shots. (As it happens, this isn’t the most complex object the team have had to lay around. Check out our blog from last year to see how the team laid around a really complicated set of willow huts).
Overall we were really pleased with the way this turned out and its another great example of the positives of artificial grass and how its application not only creates great looking results, but can be a big resource for schools across the country.
