Bilton School transforms outside communal area
Published: 22 September 2023
Bilton School is a secondary school in Rugby, Warwickshire, with approx. 2000 pupils. The communal outside paths and grass areas were original from when the school was built. As the school has grown over the years, the area wasn’t working for the footfall; the path wasn’t wide enough so the children were walking across the grass and it became unsightly and muddy, especially as it wasn’t draining very well.
After a few meetings with the Head of Estates at the school, PJ Dolman were instructed to undertake a project to renovate the area and make it useable. The team renewed drainage, laid a suitable base, extended the pathway, and installed an area of 30mm Huracan artificial grass which is commonly used in school and playground projects around the UK. As well as the area meeting the practical needs of the school it also injected some colour, they had wanted it to look as green as possible!
Simon from PJ Dolman is very pleased with the transformation. Using a full roll of 5m wide Huracan meant only one very small join was needed and his team gave great feedback on the product. He added “ I only use Perfectly Green for artificial grass due to the service, quality and price, I’m more than happy”. He also commented that Bilton School are ‘over the moon’ with the final result. PJ Dolman are a family run Landscaping company from Northampton. They carry out all landscaping works for residential homes and commercial projects.
