Roof Gardens, Balconies and Terraces – Artificial Grass & Perfect BasePosted on: 17th April, 2018
Artificial grass is an ideal covering for roof gardens, balconies and terraces. Variations in budget, colour, shade, softness, density and pile height give a wide array of choices to suit all requirements – at Perfectly Green, we have a wide range of Artificial Grass Products to transform your space.
Apart from being laid on a constructed sub base when used in a conventional garden, artificial grass can be laid on to a variety of surfaces such as concrete, paving, wet pour rubber and wooden decking. Increasingly there is a tendency to use roof areas, balconies and terraces as a ‘green space’ to bring a calm and relaxing area to homes without natural gardens. The surface should be as even as possible as an uneven artificial grass installation will not look as good as it should do! Artificial grass installations on uneven concrete or ‘gappy’ decking can be prepared by using a 10mm foam underlay which will cover most imperfections and gaps – find out more information on our Safety Play Pad System.
Equally important, particularly for roof gardens, balconies and terraces, is good drainage below the grass which will allow rain water to run away and keep the backing of the artificial grass as dry as possible. Perfect Base is a recycled plastic system which is designed to provide a stable and solid base which allows for quick and rapid drainage.
Each Perfect Base panel can be quickly and easily clipped to the next while edges can be trimmed to surrounding perimeter edges. At just 22mm deep, the drainage system within that depth, Perfect Base provides a fantastic and affordable solution for artificial grass on roof gardens, balconies and terraces. The surface of each tile is also finished with 500 ‘pips’ which grip the artifical grass once it has been laid onto the panel system. The perimeter of the grass can be quickly and easily glued to the surface of Perfect Base.
