Corvette artificial grass used to create amazing home football pitch

Although artificial grass is not a preferred option for everyone, it serves a purpose for a variety of reasons:

• Permanently shaded gardens are notoriously difficult to keep grassed
• Pest infestation can cause long term and persistent problems
• The elderly and disabled may find it diffcult to maintain natural grass
• Artificial grass can be used 365 days a year, and doesn't require extra water, electric mowing or application of pesticides or herbicides

Homeowners also look to synthetic turf to enable a healthy lifestyle for their children. This installation in a superb residential setting in West Sussex is an excellent example of this.

Corvette artificial grass is a landscaping grass, not specifically manufactured for sports and high footfall activities but suitable for use in a low level application. Corvette is a 30mm grass, with C, D and Diamond shaped blades for excellent spring back qualities. It is commonly used by playground contractors on school and playground projects.

Russell, who prepared and fitted the pitch, said "Corvette has worked really well for this project as the pile is relatively short at 30mm. I felt that the pitch would look really good by fitting the rolls in opposite directions to give a permanent stripe across the area. The customer is really happy with the finished job"

For this project corvette was installed on a 150mm base of compacted type 1MOT, with the grass being infilled with around 10kg of sand/sqm. 2EX or C30 sand is recommended for this purpose.

The grass rolls were expertly installed by the fitters, running in opposite directions across the pitch, giving an excellent representation of a professional pitch! The white lines are an appropriate line marking paint applied at the end of the installation. Great installation, fit and active children!
