Perfectly Green Leisure Colours was installed by Rhino Play (SW) Ltd to create this superb multi-use games area for children at a school in Torquay. Artificial turf is a popular choice for games areas because it’s highly durable and allows a high level of usage with minimum maintenance. For school projects synthetic grass is a superb option as it ensures that children can remain active all year round. Homeowners are also turning to products like Leisure Colours, or landscaping grasses, to create play areas in their own gardens.
Leisure Colours is a versatile artificial grass surface, used for a variety of projects ranging from sports and playgrounds to events and exhibitions. It is supplied in a 10mm short, curly pile with 9 vibrant colours to select from. Rhino Play installed the games surface on top of a tarmacadam base which needed some preparation work to remove undulations and also required holes drilled into the base to assist with drainage.
Perfectly Green 10mm foam underlay pad was fitted on top of the base and below the Leisure Colour rolls, acting as a bounce moderator. The coloured lines were cut and glued into the main playing surface once the main rolls had been laid and fitted. A sand dressing was applied to the surface to complete this superb sports and games area.
Chris Parker, Managing Director of Rhino Play, says "The client and the end user are very pleased with the installation. We were contracted via a local building services company that works with several PFI schools across the Southwest, we’ve completed many projects for them previously. This particular project was at a school in Torquay. Our operatives found the Leisure Grass to be a great product to work with and we’re very pleased with the finish. We would happily recommend the product to any company/persons looking to install & use it as MUGA pitch surface".
