MUGA and Football
A Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) is typically used for a variety of sports games, such as football, basketball or tennis, enclosed with a fence to keep balls within the playing area. They often cater for various sports by providing the appropriate line marking for each sport, sometimes with line marking paint but also coloured lines fitted within the playing surface.
Leisure Colours from Perfectly Green provides a great surface for MUGA projects. Available in 9 different colours, Leisure Colours is a 10mm short curly pile product, requiring a sand infill of [14 to 25] kg/sqm. Our 10mm Play Pad should be used beneath Leisure Colours. The video above shows a completed MUGA using Leisure Colours.

Artificial turf is a popular choice for football and training pitches because it’s highly durable and allows a high volume of usage with minimum maintenance. Synthetic grass is often more comfortable for players because of the increased shock absorption, especially when playing on hard ground.
Football can be played all year round in all weather conditions without losing quality of the pitch – no muddy patches or standing water, just a pitch that can be played on all day long.
Synthetic football turf significantly reduces maintenance and cost in the long term, as operation and labour needs are far less intensive. Artificial surfaces are versatile as they are multi-purpose; allowing you to host other events such as concerts or shows, which in turn could open new revenue streams.
Perfectly Green 3G, available in 40mm, 50mm and 60mm pile, requires a sand and rubber crumb infill, a process which requires machinery to install and subsequently to maintain and redistribute.
